Description
The Victorian Bandstand, located in Stamford Recreation Ground, was built around 1910. It features a wooden structure set on a brick and concrete base. The bandstand has an octagonal base with three stone steps leading up to the south face. Its octagonal hipped roof is covered in wooden shingles and is topped with a lead cap and an iron weather-vane. The bandstand is supported by eight octagonal wooden columns that have moulded capitals and ornate wooden brackets. Balustrades connect each column, and the columns support eight moulded beams.
