Description
The Sunday School, originally a chapel, was built in 1671 and features an 18th-century facade that showcases a simple yet attractive classical design. The front is gabled and constructed of ashlar stone, highlighted by a central Venetian window. This window includes 'Gothic' glazing bars, and above it are three stone plaques representing Faith, Hope, and Charity, with Charity positioned over the central window. The entrance doorway, which is now blocked, has a round-headed shape with a keystone, plain pilasters, and a narrow cornice adorned with modillions beneath a dentil cornice. The facade is flanked by two round-headed windows that feature triple keystones and 'Gothic' glazing bars, with bands at the cills and impost height. The building has a plinth and is constructed of coursed rubble on the sides, with stone dressings and chimney stacks. The Sunday School is part of a group that includes the garage premises to No 9A, Nos 9, 10, and Nos 12 to 17, as well as Nos 1 to 8 on All Saints' Place.
