Description
No. 10 Broad Street is a building from 1671, located on the north side of the street. It is a modernized 18th-century structure with two storeys and attics, constructed in ashlar stone. The roof is made of stone slate and features one stone chimney stack and one brick chimney stack. The façade includes three windows with stone surrounds, keystones, and a band that continues as a cilia, with marginal glazing on the double-hung sashes. There is a plinth at the base of the building and two gabled dormers in the roof.
On the ground floor, there are two windows with segmental heads and moulded architraves. The high doorway features a rectangular fanlight and carved ward spandrels. The shop front has three channelled rusticated pilasters and a small dentil cornice above the fascia, although this part is comparatively modern.
This building is part of a group that includes No. 1, railings and terrace to No. 1, No. 2, wall and gates to No. 2, Nos. 3, 4, Warden's House to No. 4, and Nos. 5 to 11 in succession.
