Description

No 23 Market Place is a house dating from the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with stucco dressings and features a slate roof with gable stacks. The building has a two-storey, four-bay front with a high rendered plinth. To the left, there is a doorway that has an open pediment supported by consoles, a round-headed reeded doorcase with fielded panelling, a traceried fanlight, and a deep-set panelled door. To the left of the doorway is a plain sash window, with two plain sashes to the right. On the upper floor, there are four plain sash windows, all of which have voussoired wedge stucco lintels.
