Description
No. 25 Market Place is a house dating from the late 18th century to the mid 19th century. It features a front made of coursed limestone rubble, with red brick return walls and ashlar quoins, along with some limestone ashlar. The roof is double ridged, covered in slate and pantiles, with stone coped gables, moulded modillioned eaves, and gable stacks.
The building is two and a half storeys tall with a five-bay front. The central doorway has a semi-circular head and a plain doorcase with fielded panelling, a plain fanlight, and a deeply set panelled door. On either side of the doorway are plain sash windows. Above, there are five plain sashes, all featuring ashlar wedge lintels, and five small two-light casements at the top.
