Description
The stable block to Caythorpe Hall was built in 1823 by William Parsons. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble with ashlar dressings and features a hipped slate roof with lead dressings. The building is two storeys high and has a first-floor band. The front has seven bays arranged in a 2:3:2 pattern, with the middle three bays projecting to create a pedimented entry bay. The central doorway is very wide and has a basket arch with a raised splayed keystone. On either side of the doorway are two tall glazing bar windows with hinged upper lights. The seven windows on the upper floor are glazing bar sashes, all featuring plain stone surrounds. Above the central window, within a pediment, is a blank circular recess that also has a plain stone surround.
