Description
32 Broad Street is an early 17th-century building that stands two storeys high with attics, constructed in ashlar stone. It features a stone slate roof adorned with two gabled dormers that have leaded casements positioned between the roof gables. The building has one brick chimney stack and one stone chimney stack.
The façade includes three gables, one of which is an oriel that has a moulded bressumer above an archway. The other two gables each have two storeys with a total of two bays, each bay containing a six-light window with moulded stone mullions. There is a moulded string course at the eaves and between the storeys, which also serves as a lintel for the windows. A small two-light stone mullioned window with a rectangular drip-mould is located above the central door.
The entrance features an early 19th-century wooden doorcase with an open pediment, grooved pilasters, and paterae, although the door itself is modern. The building has a plinth and two inset foot scrapers.
32 Broad Street is part of a group with Nos 31 to 34 and the Old Technical School.
