Description
The Pigeoncote, stables, and barn at Manor Farm date from the late 17th century, with additions from the mid 18th century and alterations from the 19th century. The structure is built from coursed limestone rubble, featuring ashlar quoins and dressings. It has a pantile roof with stone coped gables on the 17th-century dovecote. At the ridge, there is a weatherboarded turret topped with a shaped pyramidal lead roof, complete with a finial and wooden knop, and three flight holes. The building has a single-storey, single-bay front with a moulded string course and a central planked door with a timber lintel. There is a blocked opening in the gable end. The pigeoncote is flanked by lower mid-18th-century ranges, and to the right, there is a taller 18th-century range that includes the barn and stables. Inside the pigeoncote, there are stone nesting boxes and a clasped purlin roof, while the stable range also features a clasped purlin roof.
