Description

Hill Top Farmhouse is a late 18th-century farmhouse, with 19th and 20th-century additions. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with red brick quoins and dressings. The roof is covered with concrete tiles, and features single red brick gable stacks. The front of the farmhouse is two stories and three bays wide, with a dogtooth eaves course in the brickwork. A central half-glazed door, set within a brick segmental head, is sheltered by a 19th-century open gabled stone porch with a plinth, a semi-circular headed outer opening, and bargeboard. The porch is flanked by single glazing bar sash windows. Above, there are three glazing bar sashes. All windows have timber lintels. A 20th-century extension is present at the rear. The Denton parish was enclosed in 1789.
