Description
19 Broad Street is a mid-18th century building that stands two storeys high with attics, constructed of ashlar stone. It features a mansard roof with two modern flat-topped dormers. The building has rusticated quoins, a band between the storeys, and a plinth. A stone moulded modillion cornice and a small parapet adorn the top. The windows are set in moulded stone surrounds with triple keystones and consist of double-hung sashes with glazing bars. The band continues as cills on the first floor. The entrance door is located to the left side in No 18. Inside, there is a notable plaster panelled room from the late 18th century, which includes a fine marble chimney piece. This building is part of a group that includes the Roman Catholic Church of St Augustine, the school, the wall and gate piers to the church, along with Nos 14, 15, and Nos 17 to 22.
