Description
No. 27, Church Street is an early 19th-century house with minor 20th-century alterations. It is constructed of red-brown brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with a concrete tile roof and brick coped gables. A single gable stack is also present. The house is two storeys high with a cellar, and has a two-bay front. A dentillated eaves course runs along the top of the brickwork. A half-glazed front door is located on the left-hand side, set within a decorative doorcase featuring fluted pilasters, an open pediment topped with paterae, and a traceried fanlight. To the right of the door is a plain sash window with a segmental brick head. The first floor has two similar windows set to the eaves.
