Description

Caythorpe Farmhouse is a brick farmhouse dating to 1786, with minor alterations in the 20th century. It is constructed of red brown brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with a Welsh slate roof and two gable stacks. The building has a T-shaped plan. The front elevation is three stories and three bays wide, featuring an ogee gutter and fascia. A central half-glazed door is set in panelled reveals, with a plain pilastered surround and a dentillated pediment containing the inscription "JW 1786". The ground floor is flanked by single glazing bar sash windows. The first floor has three similar windows, and the second floor has three smaller windows, all with painted brick segmental arched heads. Inside, an eared fireplace surround remains.
