Description

This milestone, dating from the mid-19th century, is located on the south side of Long Sutton Road in Sutton Bridge. It is made of painted ashlar and stands approximately 0.75 of a metre high. The milestone has a rectangular shape with a moulded head. The front is inscribed with the word 'Spalding', but the rest of the inscription is illegible. The right side indicates that Sutton Bridge is 1 mile away, while the left side states that Long Sutton is 2 miles away.
