Description
Two houses, built in the early 19th century, dated 1834. The construction is red brick with some painted stucco dressings, and the roof is slate with gable stacks. The building is two and a half storeys on the left-hand side, and three storeys on the right, but both ranges are of the same height. The right-hand two bays project slightly, and all four bays have a first-floor band. A semi-circular headed doorway features a rusticated archivolt with keystone, and a fanlight with radiating spokes, over a panelled door. A single glazing bar sash window, with a rusticated painted wedge lintel and keystone, sits to the right. There are two larger glazing bar sashes to the left. Above are two similar glazing bar sashes, with two smaller glazing bar sashes set lower down on the right; these also have rusticated wedge lintels with keystones. Further above are two small glazing bar sashes, alongside two larger, lower glazing bar sashes to the right. All sashes in the left-hand two bays, and to the top floor of the right-hand two bays, have painted, flush wedge lintels. An oval plaque within a rusticated surround is positioned above a first-floor window, inscribed 'JC 1834'.
