Description
Barrington House, built around 1825, is a two-storey red brick house located on the west side of Holbeach Barrington Gate. It features a hipped slate roof with overhanging eaves supported by paired brackets and has three lateral stacks. The front of the house has five bays, with a central doorway that includes a three-quarter ionic columned doorcase, an entablature, a cornice, a panelled reveal, a decorative fanlight, and a panelled door. On either side of the doorway are two glazing bar sash windows, and there are five additional glazing bar sashes above, all with cambered heads. Slightly set back on each side are stone-coped red brick raking walls that end with outer rectangular stone-coped piers, each containing a semi-circular headed doorway; the right doorway is blocked, while the left features a wrought iron gate.
