Description

Hill Cottage is an early 19th-century brick cottage located on Fosse Lane in Thorpe-on-the-Hill. The building is constructed of red brick with a slate roof and features two brick gable stacks. It is two storeys high and originally comprised three bays. The central doorway has a stone surround consisting of pilasters topped with brackets supporting a moulded canopy. The door itself is panelled with semi-circular tops. Two flush-glazed sash windows are located on the ground floor, each with a flat painted stone lintel. Above them are two more flush-glazed sash windows, also with painted stone lintels; the central window on the first floor has been blocked and painted over. A wooden eaves cornice runs along the top of the building.
