Description
The Village Hall, built around 1835 by W A Nicholson, is a single-storey structure located on the east side of Main Street in Blankney. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble with ashlar dressings and features a shallow pitched slate roof topped with a single octagonal Tudor-style white brick chimney. The gables are coped with ashlar and have moulded kneelers. The building has a white brick plinth and flush ashlar quoins. The gable end facing the street includes a large round-headed doorway with a plank door, surrounded by a moulded ashlar frame with chamfered jambs. Each side elevation has two three-light mullion windows, with each light having a round-headed top and chamfered jambs. This hall is part of the complete estate village built for the Chaplin family of Blankney Hall.
