Description
The Blankney Golf Clubhouse and attached cottage is a pair of cottages, now serving as a clubhouse and cottage, built around 1835 by W A Nicholson. The structure is made of coursed limestone rubble with ashlar dressings and features slate roofs with ashlar coped gables, moulded kneelers, and finials. It has a white brick and ashlar chamfered plinth and flush ashlar quoins. The building includes a row of three ridge stacks, a pair, and a row of three lateral octagonal Tudor style white brick and ashlar stacks.
It is a single storey plus attic, with an off-centre doorway that has an ashlar four-centred arched surround and a four-panel door. To the left of the doorway is a three-light square bay window with a hipped roof that also covers the porch, and above it is a tiny single light window. The gabled cross wing to the right features a single three-light window under dripmoulds on each floor. Further to the right is another gabled cross wing, also with a three-light window under dripmoulds on each floor. All windows are casements set in recessed and chamfered ashlar mullion surrounds. This building is part of the complete estate village established by the Chaplin family of Blankney Hall.
