Description

A pair of pillars from the mid-18th century, built as part of the Aswarby Park Estate for the Whichcote family. Made of limestone ashlar, the Doric pillars stand approximately 12 yards apart. They feature square base blocks, rolled bases, tapering entasised shafts, and plain cornices that support single boar's heads, which represent the Whichcote crest. These pillars marked the grand axis of the now-demolished house.
