Description
The School House, originally the schoolmaster's house, dates from 1843 and has been altered around 1980. It is constructed of red brick with ashlar dressings and features a slate roof with renewed ashlar coped gables and moulded kneelers. There is a single rebuilt gable stack and a chamfered ashlar plinth, along with ashlar quoins. The building is single-storey plus attic and has a two-bay east front. It includes a four-centred arched doorway with a chamfered ashlar surround, and to the right, there is a single three-light mullion chamfered ashlar window. Above this is a gabled dormer with a coped gable and moulded kneelers. Attached to the northeast corner is a short wall with ashlar coping, featuring a four-centred arched gateway with a chamfered ashlar surround; this wall connects with the southwest corner of the Old School.
