Description

The Old School is a red brick school building dating from 1843, with alterations made around 1890. It has ashlar dressings and a slate roof with ashlar coped gables, moulded kneelers, and a chamfered ashlar plinth. Ashlar quoins mark the corners.

The east front is single-storied and features three bays, with a slightly projecting gabled central bay. This central bay contains a single, three-light cross mullion window set in a chamfered ashlar surround with a drip mould above. Above the window is an ashlar coat-of-arms, and the gable is topped by an ashlar gabled bellcote with a pointed, chamfered arched bell opening. Either side of the central bay are single, similar three-light cross mullion windows. A rebuilt, gabled porch is set back to the north. The south front has its windows and door bricked up.
