Description
Westgate House is a late 18th century or early 19th century building, with a street front that dates from the mid 19th century. It features a Welsh slate roof and a garden front that is three storeys high, constructed in ashlar with a parapet and a moulded cornice. The front has five windows without glazing bars, arranged over two storeys. The ground floor includes two bow windows with three lights each, which are connected by a curved cornice adorned with a laurel wreath motif, along with a parapet. There is a central doorway flanked by Tuscan columns, accessed by five steps. The left wing of the building is two storeys high, rendered, and also has a Welsh slate roof. It contains three hung sash windows with glazing bars, two of which are on the ground floor alongside a plain doorway. A band runs between the storeys. Westgate House is part of a group that includes Nos 15 to 19 (odd), 23, 25, along with No 17A and the Kesteven County Council Clinic and Offices, which are all of local interest.
