Description

Nos 40 and 42 on Westgate are 18th-century buildings that stand three storeys tall. The front is cement rendered, while the sides are made of brick. They have a hipped roof covered with cement pantiles. The buildings feature two windows with moulded wooden frames, most of which have hung sashes with glazing bars. The ground floor is concealed by a brick extension from the mid-19th century. There are pointed arches above two doorways and shop windows, and access is through a central passage entry. Nos 28 to 34 (even) and 38 to 42 (even) are part of a group.
