Description
Elms Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in 1848 for the Whichcote family of Aswarby Park. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and features slate roofs with two brick gable stacks that have dentillated ashlar cornices. The building has an L-plan layout and is two stories high with a three-bay front. The central bay is slightly advanced and includes an open dentillated pediment, along with a dentillated eaves course.
The central doorway is semi-circular headed and has ashlar key and impost blocks, containing a six-panelled door with a traceried overlight. This doorway is flanked by single glazing bar sashes. On the first floor, there are three similar windows, all of which have cambered brick arched heads and flush splayed ashlar lintels. In the central gable, there is an ashlar plaque that displays the date 1848 in raised letters.
