Description

A row of six houses located on Bailgate, Lincoln, dating to the late 18th century and subsequently refenestrated in the mid-20th century. The houses are constructed of brick with asbestos slate roofs and feature two gable and two ridge stacks. They have a rendered plinth, stone steps, dentilled eaves, brick coped gables with kneelers and flat arches over the openings. The buildings are arranged over two storeys plus attics and comprise six bays. The windows are mid-20th century, 2-light casements with toplights to the lower floor windows. A central through passage doorway is present with a plain door. To the left of the passage is a fielded 6-panel door with a reeded surround and cornice, while a 20th-century panelled door is located to the right. Pairs of windows and doors flank either side of the central passage, with a single window beyond. Above are six windows arranged in a 1/2/2/1 pattern. There are six gabled dormers with smaller 2-light casements in the attic. The interior was not inspected.
