Description
No. 48 Westgate is a 18th-century, three-storey, L-shaped brick house that has been rendered. It features a steep pantile roof and has two brick stacks at the gable ends. The building has a plinth and the road front includes two three-light and one central single-light hung sash window on each floor. The windows are set in wide wooden cases that are almost flush with the facade, and they have flat-arched stucco carved lintels with keystones and plain cills. There are bands between the storeys. The doorway, located in the centre of the road elevation, has been replaced and features plain attached three-quarter columns and a pediment with dentils, along with panelled reveals and a six-panel door. Nos. 44 to 66 (even) are part of a group with Nos. 82 and 84.
