Description
This pair of early to mid-19th century buildings, numbers 50 and 52, stand on the west side of Upgate. They are three storeys high and constructed of brick, topped with a Welsh slate roof and bracketed eaves. The building has three windows, featuring wooden frames, carved stucco lintels with keystones, and marginal glazing. A continuous dentil cornice runs above two late 19th century shop fronts and a central passage, punctuated by plain, narrow pilasters. The buildings are listed as part of a group, recognised for their contribution to the character of an important street, alongside numbers 36 to 52 (even).
