Description

Wallis Fashions is a shop with accommodation above, dating from around 1775, with later 19th and 20th-century alterations. The building is constructed of colourwashed, rendered brick and features a steeply pitched pantile roof with rendered brick coped gables, a parapet, and a single gable stack. It has two storeys and an attic, presenting a three-bay front. The ground floor has a 20th-century shop front that includes a deep-set doorway with a traceried fanlight and partially glazed doors, flanked by convex windows supported by two free-standing columns.

Above the shop front, there are three casement windows with late 19th-century moulded architraves, a central floating pediment, and flanking windows that have floating moulded cornices. The upper storey also features three glazing bar sash windows with moulded architraves. A single flat-headed dormer contains a two-light casement.

The west front consists of two bays and an attic, with a six-bay front that has a first-floor band and decorated eaves. To the left, there is a doorway with a segmental head and a plank door. Beyond this, an early 19th-century canted bay window has a central glazing bar sash flanked by single narrow lights, topped with a dentillated entablature. To the right, there is a large 20th-century window, with two glazing bar sashes to the left and a single blind opening beside them, while the right side has two glazing bar sashes with a single blind opening next to them. All windows and blind openings have segmental heads. Above, there is a single gabled dormer featuring a three-light casement.
