Description

These are a pair of early to mid-19th century townhouses located on the west side of Upgate. They are built of red brick with a Welsh slate roof. The houses are three storeys high with an attic, and feature a central pediment, with recessed sides. The front elevation has a 1-2-1 window arrangement. The ground floor bays have sliding casements beneath stucco lintels, and are topped by balconies with cast iron railings. Doric porches with steps and cast iron railings are located on either side of the first floor. The central three-light casements are set within segmental-arched panels. The second floor and attic have sash windows, also with stucco lintels. Balustraded roof parapets complete the facades. The houses are part of a group that includes numbers 70 to 104 (even).
