Description

This is a two-house property, now used as a single house, dating from circa 1800, with additions from the mid-19th century. The building is constructed of red brick with a hipped roof covered in concrete tiles, featuring moulded brick eaves and a single ridge stack.

The south front, facing three bays, rises three stories and has horizontal bands marking the first and second floors. A doorway is located on the left side, featuring a wedge lintel, overlight, and a plank door. To the right of the doorway is a plain sash window. The two windows above flank a blind opening. Similarly, two smaller plain sashes above are accompanied by a small blind opening. All windows have wedge lintels and segmental heads.

The east front also rises three stories and is organized in three bays, with first and second floor bands. A blocked doorway is situated on the right side, with a plain sash window inserted above it, featuring a wedge lintel. A blocked window is on the left side, with a plain sash window alongside, featuring a segmental head and a wedge lintel. Three plain sashes are positioned above, each with segmental heads and wedge lintels. Two smaller plain sashes are above these. Additions to the north and west are considered to have no architectural significance. Phoenix House is a separate listed building.
