Description
Authorpe Hall Farm House is a farmhouse dating from the 16th century, with an 18th-century addition and extensive alterations from the 19th century. It is constructed of red brick featuring some diaper work in dark burnt headers, and has a pantile roof with a single ridge and external gable stacks. The building has an irregular two-storey front with five bays and an interrupted first-floor band.
The entrance is off-centre and features a half-glazed door with an overlight. To the left of the door is a plain sash window, and to the right are two tripartite windows. On the first floor, there are four plain sash windows and a single tripartite window, all of which have cambered brick heads. Decorative double brick lozenges are present on the first floor, and traces of the original fenestration can still be seen. The right-hand bay is an 18th-century addition built in Flemish bond.
