Description
Claythorpe Manor is a farmhouse dating from the early 18th century, with alterations made in the early and late 19th centuries. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and features a slate roof, originally designed with tumbled gables. The building has two partly external brick gable stacks and a single ridge stack at the rear, following a T-plan layout.
The manor stands two storeys high, plus garrets, and includes a first-floor band and gable bands. The front has five bays, with an off-centre glazed door that is sheltered by a 19th-century gabled porch adorned with decorative bargeboard. To the left of the door are three full-height glazing bar sash windows, while to the right is a rectangular tripartite bay window with bordered lights. On the first floor, there are five glazing bar sash windows, all of which feature segmental brick heads.
Inside, one room retains an early 18th-century moulded plaster cornice.
