Description

The Stenigot War Memorial is located in the churchyard of St Nicholas Church, which is also a Grade II listed building, situated to the south of the church. The memorial is made of rough-hewn grey granite. It features a low square base with an irregular granite block serving as the plinth for a simple Latin cross. On the western side of the memorial, there is an inscription on the plinth that reads: "IN PROUD AND LOVING MEMORY OF (5 NAMES) MEN OF THIS PARISH WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR 1914-1918. 'THEIR NAME LIVETH FOR EVERMORE'."
