Description

Martin Hall is a small country house built in the late 18th century, with early 19th-century alterations and an extension. The house is constructed of rendered red brick and features slate roofs with raised stone coped gables and kneelers, along with two gable stacks and one wall stack. The left addition has a hipped end and a slate roof with lead dressings.

The main block stands three storeys high and has three bays. It features paired brackets at the eaves, a central half-glazed door with a plain overlight, and a stone porch supported by pairs of square Doric columns. This porch has a plain frieze and a low pedimented lead roof. On the ground floor, the porch is flanked by single glazing bar sash windows. The first floor has three shorter glazing bar sash windows, while the second floor has three square similar windows.

To the left, there is a two-storey addition that includes a canted bay on the ground floor, which has tall French windows and fixed lights separated by facetted mullions, all supporting a hipped slate roof with lead dressings. The first floor of this addition has two glazing bar sash windows. All windows throughout the building feature low cambered heads and stucco lintels with fluted key blocks on the main block. The building is incorrectly labeled as Martin House on the Ordnance Survey map.
