Description

The buildings at 78 and 80 Westgate Place date from the late 18th and early 19th centuries. They are three storeys high and constructed of gault and red brick, with brick eaves. The roof is tiled with pantiles. Number 78 has largely modern windows, while number 80 retains original windows with one window per floor, featuring segmental-headed, hung sashes with glazing bars. Each building has a half-glazed door set within a segmental-arched doorway. The buildings contribute to the group value of Nos 72 to 76, and together with Nos 70 to 80 (even) form a wider architectural grouping.
