Description

No. 82 Westgate is a 18th century and later, long-fronted, three-storey brick house with a shallow pantile roof and dentilled eaves. At the eastern end, which is a later addition, there are two three-light hung sash windows with glazing bars and flat-arched heads on the ground and first floors, while the second floor has no windows. The earlier part of the house features five windows on the first and second floors, two of which are blind, with hung sashes set in wide wooden cases and flat-arched heads. The ground floor includes a four-centred-arched garage entrance at the western end, alongside one three-light window and one single-light window. The house entrance has a doorcase supported by two columns and topped with a triangular pediment over a semi-circular head, featuring a radiating fanlight and a six-panel door. There is also a scraper present. Nos. 44 to 66 (even) form a group with Nos. 82 and 84.
