Description
The Rectory is a 1828 building constructed of red brick with slate roofs, featuring brick coped gables and kneelers. It has four tall brick stacks with diagonal shafts. The main south front is two storeys high and consists of three bays, with the central bay slightly recessed. This central section includes a doorway with a painted four-centred arched surround and a half-glazed door. To the left, there is a tall four-light casement window with four-centred arched heads beneath a Tudor hood, while to the right is a shorter, similar window. Above the doorway is a central glazing bar sash window with a four-centred arched head. Flanking the central bay are single two-light cross casements, and above them are single blind openings in the gables.
The irregularly fenestrated west front features an external stack that incorporates some medieval fragments from the church within its masonry, along with a datestone inscribed with the year 1828. Inside, there is a contemporary single flight return staircase with early 18th-century re-used balusters, likely from an earlier house that once stood on this site, with other remnants possibly concealed within the current structure.
