Description

No. 84 Westgate is a late 18th-century, three-storey brick building set back from No. 82, featuring a small enclosed forecourt. The brickwork is laid in header bond, and the building has a pantile roof with an eaves cornice supported by paired brackets, along with a central chimney stack. Each floor has two three-light hung sash windows with glazing bars, while the second floor has a single light window that is blind. The windows have wide wooden cases and flat arched heads.

The central entrance is highlighted by a Doric porch with reeded columns and pilasters flanking the doorway, topped with a pediment that features a triglyph frieze. The entrance door is part-glazed and includes a rectangular fanlight. The forecourt is enclosed by railings. Nos. 44 to 66 (even) form a group with Nos. 82 and 84.
