Schoolroom now school, library and gateway. 1567, with additions of 1856 and 1866 and other C19 alterations. Red brick with ashlar quoins and dressings, fishscale tile roof, stone coped gables with finials. EXTERIOR: single storey, 5-bay front with set back 3-bay C19 flanking wings, that to the north being gables. Stone plinth. Central canted bay window of 3 lights, stone embattled parapet. Flanked by pairs of 3-light windows, all with narrow chamfered stone mullions, leaded lights, hood moulds, the bay windows also with transom. To the south a 3-bay wing with external stack, central 6-panel door with 4 centre arched stone doorway flanked by 3-light stone mullioned windows. Above the door an inscribed panel reads 'This wing erected MD CCCLVI'. To the north a similar door and window arrangement, with moulded parapet bearing a scrolled panel with date of 1866. Behind a gable with 4-light mullioned and hooded window and inscription panel above. Adjoining is a 'Tudor' gateway within brick wall with moulded stone coping. INTERIOR: not inspected. Erected as a Free Grammar School.
