Description
This is a late 18th-century house with alterations from the later 19th century. It is constructed of red brick in a Flemish bond pattern, topped with a hipped roof covered in plain tiles and lead detailing, and features a prominent brick stack.
The exterior presents a three-story plus attic façade with a rendered plinth and a moulded eaves cornice embellished with modillions. The ground floor has two plain sash windows, while the first floor displays a pair of exceptionally tall windows with glazing bars. The second floor features two plain sash windows, with these seemingly deepened in the 19th century. A divided sash dormer window sits in the roof, incorporating a gabled lead roof and cheeks.
The side front of the house, featuring two bays, includes a six-panel door with a three-pane overlight set within a doorcase featuring narrow pilasters and a bracketed pediment. A plain sash window is located to the left of the door, with a similar window above it and a glazing bar sash to the right. A further plain sash windows are present on the second floor. All windows are topped with rubbed brick wedge lintels.
The interior retains a stick baluster staircase rising over four flights. This staircase features a carved string and a ramped handrail supported on turned newels. Panelled doors are found throughout the house.
