Description

The Cock and Hen in the Chinese garden is an ornamental garden sculpture dating from the late 19th century. It is made of bronze and depicts a cock perched on a tree trunk above a hen sitting on a nest. The cock features very fine long tail feathers. This sculpture is part of a collection of Chinese or Japanese artworks gathered for the garden by the first Lord Crawshaw around 1890 to 1900.
