Description
The garden building located in the garden of number 77 Station Road in Coalville, Hugglescote, dates back to around 1700, with alterations made around 1820 and restoration completed in 2006. This structure was originally an important part of the formal garden associated with the former Hugglescote Manor, which was home to the Hastings family. It is constructed of red brick with ashlar dressings and features a stone slate roof. The building is single-storey and has a square plan. The south front showcases an ashlar Venetian doorway, which includes a later plank door and blocked side lights. Above the doorway is a moulded ashlar band, topped by a restored brick parapet with ashlar coping.
