Description
16 Church Street is a building dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It features a red brick facade and a slate roof that is hipped at the north end. The building has two storeys and two windows, which are sash windows with boxed frames, cambered head linings, and glazing bars. The ground floor includes a canted bay with a cornice and modern glazing. The southern door is framed with a reeded architrave, while the northern door has a bracketed hood and a moulded architrave.
This property, along with Nos 6, 8, and 12 to 18 (even), as well as the western workshop and garden wall at No 18, forms a group with the rear wing of The Grapes Inn in the Market Place and The Parish Church of St Mary.
