Description

The Grapes Inn and the Old Court House is a building located on the south side of Market Place, dating from the 18th century, with an early 17th-century rear wing along Church Street. The facade facing Market Place is roughcast and topped with a slate roof, standing three storeys high. It features one window with sashes that have late 19th-century glazing and added jalousies. The ground floor includes a rounded bow with original glazing and a plain door. The rear wing, known as the Old Courthouse, is constructed of coursed stone with a high plinth and also has a slate roof. This wing is two storeys tall and has four stone mullioned windows, each with three lights and moulded cornices. The buildings numbered 10 to 19 form a group with this property.
