Description
The Gregory and Hugh Tomb is a significant 18th-century monument located on Church Terrace. It features a fine design standing on a cross-shaped stone plinth that is engraved with memorials. Atop the plinth is a sarcophagus, which is set on feet and adorned with a gadroon border and finial. There are urns flanking the tomb to the east and west, and the monument is made of Kelton stone. The tomb is part of a group that includes Nos 1 to 7 Church Terrace, a small building in the north-west angle, lamps in the churchyard, a building to the east of No 13 Church Street, No 18 Church Street, the western workshop and garden wall at No 18, and the Parish Church.
