Description
This is a milepost located half a mile east of Whissendine Station, dating from the early 19th century. It is made of cast iron and features a round column with two panels. The panels are inscribed with the distances to Oakham, which is 7 and a half miles away, and Melton, which is 8 miles away. The conical cap of the milepost is inscribed with the name 'Edmondthorpe'.
