15/192 Secondary stables at Belvoir Castle, 15.8.79 20 m north-east of Main Stables

GV II

Stables, now partly so used, partly domestic quarters. Early C18. Coursed ironstone with roofs of graded Swithland slate. U-shaped building. 2 storeys. House at north end. Door right of centre with one C20 casement to right and 2 to left. 2 first floor casements. Coved and plastered eaves cornice below gabled roof. One dormer to right. Internal west gable-end stack with 3 limestone flues, and similar ridge stack left of centre. Rear has carriage entrance under segmental brick arch and loose box door to right. Right again are 2 tack room doors. 2 early C18 casements to first floor. Coving continues. Roof now of slate. South return with scattered fenestration and doorways. Gabled roof with 2 stacks as before.
