Description
Thornhill House is a farmhouse dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of coursed ironstone with limestone dressings and has a roof made of black glazed pantiles. The building is two storeys tall with a dormer attic and features three bays. The central entrance has a 20th-century door set behind a hipped trellis porch adorned with ornate timberwork. On either side of the entrance are tripartite sashes from the mid-19th century, which still have their glazing bars intact. Above, there are two similar sashes and a single sash in the central bay. The roof is gabled and includes three segmental dormers, with the central dormer being narrower and pitched higher. Internal brick stacks are located at the gable ends. At the rear, there is a two-storey wing from the mid-18th century, which has various outshuts and is topped with a gabled roof, featuring two stacks.
