Description
Old Moore's Cottage is a house dated 1774, constructed from coursed ironstone with some brick, and features an upper floor that is rendered and whitewashed. The slate roof has a gabled design with internal brick stacks at the gable ends. The front of the house has one window on the left and a three-light casement window on the right, which is set under a segmental head. The first floor is illuminated by a late 20th-century casement window to the left. To the right, there is a long brick panel displaying the initials T W (for Thomas Wright) and the date 1774 in burnt headers. Thomas Wright was known as the proprietor of Old Moore's Almanac. The rear elevation is a conventional two-storey, three-bay design, featuring a central gabled porch that is rendered and whitewashed, along with 20th-century replaced casements.
