Description
The former Grammar School, dated 1828, is located on Station Road in Market Bosworth. This building is constructed of limestone ashlar and features a plain tiled roof. It is a tall, two-storey structure with seven bays divided into two sections (four bays on the left and three on the right). The left section is symmetrical, highlighted by a pedimented central gable with angle turrets. The entrance is a four-centred archway beneath a hood mould, with a foiled lancet window above. The design includes Gothick detailing throughout.
The windows in the left section have stone mullions and transoms, with hood moulds, and consist of three and four lights. In the right section, which has three storeys, the windows are of two lights. All windows are fitted with latticed metal glazing. The building features a parapet with fretted decoration, a wooden cupola above the gable, and a clock at its apex. Above the doorway, there is an inscription in Latin and Greek along with the date.
